Off late there is an upsurge and sudden craze for handmade soaps! Not only do they look and smell amazing, they are also very organic and contain little to no chemicals. Naturally, people who are conscious about their skin opt for these soaps

While there are hundreds of upcoming brands of handmade soaps, I stumbled upon one brand. “Curie”.  The first thing I noticed about their soaps was the names- I was in awe of their creativity. “The coffee swirl”, “Die Hard Romantic”, “Venus”, “Earth” are just a few names..👏 Second, while most brands offer you similar soaps for ₹300 -350 this brand has all its soaps priced at ₹150.😇

Their soaps look so beautiful. I was initially confused about what to buy, but then their transparency and detailed description of each soap- the ingredients, what soap can be used on what skin types, etc., helped me make a decision.

I zeroed down on their combo pack of 3 soaps.

Within a week I received the soaps in this beautiful looking box. As soon as I opened the box, my room was filled with the fragrance of these soaps.

The soaps appearance made me starry eyed 😍. I just wanted to admire them and not use them. But, they are soaps, they are meant to be used.😛
I got these 3 soaps

  • Coffee Swirl (my personal favourite💗)

  • Die hard Romantic 💟

  • Venus Planet 💫

These soaps are amazing and are definitely worth a try. Once you try these, you will be their permanent customer for sure..
I would definitely recommend this brand. Ditch your traditional body and face washes and opt for these organic, handmade soaps. Trust me, they will not disappoint!

So what are you waiting for? Go buy your soap from www.curieindia.com !
Happy Bathing 😃

Namaste 🙏,

Among, what seems to be like millions of options of restaurants in Indiranagar, Bangalore, I was fortunate enough to have discovered Bricklane Grill. The roof top restaurant of Escape Hotel on 12th main road, Indiranagar, is simply astonishing.

They say- “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”. The ambience of Bricklane Grill proves this right. Simple yet sophisticated, this place is sure to leave an everlasting good impression on anyone who visits. The ambience is white, romantic and is lit up with tea light candles and fairy lights which doubles up the romantic quotient. The photos I post here, do not do justice so such a pretty place.

Service is what makes any restaurant stand out. No matter the ambience, no matter the food, if the Staff are not cooperative the restaurant is not worth. But, the staff of Bricklane make sure your dining experience is worth every penny you spend there. Very alert and active and cooperative staff who leave you smiling at the end of your visit.

Now let’s talk about what makes a restaurant a restaurant. Food & Drinks.😍
  •     Harvey’s Wallbanger.
Surprisingly, the bar menu is longer than the food menu 😕.  I asked the staff to recommend a vodka based cocktail and he recommended Harvey’s Wallbanger. I did not find anything special in it, neither was it disappointing. It was just vodka with orange juice and according to the staff sambuca too.

  •     Honey mustard Chicken Kabab.
Soft, succulent, perfectly cooked chicken kababs in a honey mustard sauce. To make it short and precise- I loved it! I had heard about honey mustard chicken n number of times. This was the first time I tried it. I never believed chicken, honey and mustard could go together so well.

  •           Ghee roast lamb with mint flavoured dosa.
Well, being a south Indian, and having inherited a little of the Mangalorean genes, I had to have this dish as soon as I saw- “Ghee roast” and the “Dosa”. And yet again, this dish did not disappoint me. The mutton was cooked to perfection with the right amount of spices. Interestingly enough, the dosa was much better than what you get in authentic south Indian restaurants. I wouldn’t mind another of that dosa 😜 . Unfortunately, I had to reserve space for other dishes.

  •  Shrimp Gambas.
Me, the prawn lover just couldn’t resist this dish. A little sweet and a little spicier, overloaded with pepper, made to set your tongue on fire, for me, it was just perfect after having the mildly spiced dishes.

  •    Mutton Rogan Gosht with Berry pulao rice and crispy onion.
Another mutton dish to satisfy my north Indian food loving taste buds. Again, I was not at all disappointed. Be it the rice, the crispy onion or the hero of the dish the mutton rogan gosht, all of them complimented each other very well. A well though about and very well put together dish.  According to me, the only downside of this dish was that the rogan gosht was a bit more watery than it should have been.

  •   Lemon cake tart with raspberry compote.
This is the only dish that let me down on that night. I love lemon tarts and cakes, I love the subtle citrusy flavour they posses. But the lemon cake tart at Bricklane Grill was a bit too tangy for my taste. I couldn’t finish it.

  •  South Indian coffee brûlée.
While one dessert disappointed me big time, this other dessert was the best I had at Bricklane Grill. An enhanced version of Crème brûlée, this, I can say is the synonym of “Perfect dish”. The crispy blow torched layer that cracked when you slid you spoon through it, and the super soft and fluffy layer underneath with that subtle yet obvious flavour of coffee blew my mind and I was on cloud 9!

Ratings:
Ambience: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Food: 4.5/5
Overall: 4.8 (that’s amazing!)

Yes, Bricklane lived up to my expectations and would 100% recommend this “Simple yet Sophisticated” restaurant.

In my last post, I summarised my visit to hyderabad in the best way i could. If you havent read it, do read it here ->I Heart Hyderabad! Here is a detailed post of the restaurants I visited, Hyderabad food deserves a separate post. Exclusively for the Foodies!

Hyderabad is famous for 3 things- Forts, pearls and Food!! And anyone who has visited hyderabad will agree that the food is the best among the three. The Nawabs & Nizams of Hyderabad sure wanted every aspect of their life to be royal- including their food. And here I was, In the Nawabon Ka shehar, eating like a nawabzadi :)

Chichas:
This is a MUST visit restaurant. I had actually heard about their Pathar ka Gosht and so made up my mind to try their food. Unfortuantely for me, they serve Pathar Ka Gosht only after 8pm. Disappointed, I ordered for a garlic murgh, Gulfaham Kabab, Chikcken Biryani and Talawa Kabab. none of the dishes disappointed but the 2 dishes stole that stole the show are- Mutton Shikampur and the dessert- Badami Kund 😍😋! This is one restaurant I cant wait to visit again and ofcourse try more dishes.

Chicken Biryani with Talawa Gosht!
Over The Moon Brew co.
Popularly known as OTM Brew co. locally, this is a newly opened Brew pub! And yes I was happy with this Place. I had the White High beer which was wheat beer and was sweet, just as I like my beer. We ordered Irani murgh, a Pizza, Peri-Peri Prawns in Wasabi Mayo and Mixed sauce Penne Pasta. Again, I was not at all disappointed with this place, be it the ambience, the service, the beer or the food. 🍻

Brewing Beer :)

Beer with Peri Peri prawn with wasabi mayo
Paradise:
After sightseeing, we were too tired to go out and eat.We got Biryani delivered from the very famous- Paradise. But we were left a bit disappointed as the Biryani did not live upto our expectations, or maybe the outlet from where we ordered was not good enough!. Yes, I can say that Paradise is slightly over hyped. 😐

Paradise Special Chicken Biryani.
FireWater Kitchen and Bar:
Beautiful ambience, excellent service and food was top notch! Tawa Fish that was perfectly cooked, Butter garlic Prawns- A little extra butter would'nt hurt :P and Finally, it was here that I had- Perfectly spiced Pathar Ka Gosht that would just melt in ones mouth 😍!! To drink- Green apple Martini! If you like the flavour of Green apple, do sip this! 🍸

Green apple Martini

Crispy corn and Pathar ka Gosht! 😍
Punjabi affair:
From the time I landed in Hyderabad, a friend of mine who lives there was forcing me to visit this place. I insisted that I will only have authentic Hyderabadi Cuisine. He managed to convince me otherwise and took me to Punjabi Affair in Kondapur! Yes, I admit my defeat Mr Tushar! This place is amazing!! The best Butter chicken😋, the best murgh patiala😍, the best Paneer Lahori, the best Chaas, the best Lassi the best Cheese Garlic naan, yes, and even the best Fresh Lime soda. Did I not mention Missi roti? OHH! thats because it needs a special mention. I was amazed at how a simple missi roti💗😋 could be loved as much as I love it now! and to top it all, there are quirky sayings written all over the restaurant that will keep you entertained.💃 Do visit!

Punjabis... is this true? 😛

Missi Roti with Butter chicken and Murgh Patiala!

As I was writing this, I was salivating. It is by far the best culinary experience I have ever had! I missed Shah Ghouse 😐 (Hyderabadi's , Please don't judge me) . I wouldn't mind visiting all these restaurants a million times!  Some one Please sponsor 😅😛 (yeah, average salaried techie here 😒)!!!
I'm done overwhelming my self with food, need to diet now.... Naaaa, Just kidding! 😅

As I sit in front of my laptop to "Code" on a rainy Thursday morning, I can't help but recall my Hyderabad trip. I can see why the city was chosen by the nawabs to be called the Nawabon ka shehar.
This was the first time I was visiting Hyderabad and in just 3 days, I fell in love with the city. The weather, the people, the culture the cuisine- I've made them all my own. 💕

Chowmahala palace

The grandiose of, be it, the Golkonda fort or the Chowmahala Palace or even the tombs for that matter, this city was well built by the royals.
The Mecca Masjid is a different level of beautiful altogether.

Qutb Shahi Tombs

Golkonda Fort

Mecca Masjid
All said, I think the government has let them down, as such beautiful heritage sites with intricate architecture are not well maintained, especially the Charminar- the signature of Hyderabad.

Charminar

And lets not forget their cuisine. To-die-For! The Hyderabadi Biryani,Gulfaham Kabab and Badami Kund ( must have 😍)  at Chichas (Servers Authentic Hyderabadi Cuisine), the Butter chicken and Peshawari Murgh at Punjabi affair, the Pathar Ka Ghost at Firewater Kitchen and Bar, I think I should stop there as I'm salivating just by writing about it! The night life too, is pretty good... amazing pubs & clubs like Over The Moon Brew Co. (OTM Brew co.), Firewater Kitchen & bar & Pier 33 are some of the must visit places to experience Hyderabad Night life.

Firewater Kitchen & Bar

Chichas!!

Now, lets talk about my favorite thing- souvenirs!! I make sure I always bring back souvenirs from the place I visit. The one thing you should not come back from Hyderabad without is of course- the ever famous Hyderabadi pearls & a few boxes of Karachi Biscuits 😋

Authentic Hyderabadi Pearl earrings!

Like all good things, this tour also came to an end. But would definitely visit n number of times just for their food!

And now, back to routine!

SAVE ME!!!

Usually, when we plan a trip, I do a lot of research about the place. As in, what places to sight see and where to eat what are the experiences that we should take back as memories with us, etc. Needless to say, I did a similar thing while planning the mini bachelorette trip too.
Now, Pondicherry, as you know is famous for everything French, including the food! We had a lot of restaurants on our “to-visit” list, and only 2 days to visit them. So, on day 2 of our trip, we decided to go restaurant hopping!

Streets of Pondicherry!

1)Café des arts

Entrance of Cafe des arts

Ambience: beautiful, rustic and homely
inside case des arts

Service: a bit sloppy, lazy staff
Food (What we ordered) : Banana Nutella Waffles- waffles were a disappointment, they were rubbery. Only the banana and Nutella gave flaour to the dish!
Pondy Tartines: Spicy chicken shreds with onions olives and cheese on a an extremely HARD sub of bread. Though it tasted pretty good, it was not at all edible because the sub was hard for human teeth to break through it!

Banana Nutella waffles and pondy tartines!

 2)New Farm Fresh:

Ready for pizza!!

Ambience: Nothing great, probably one of the very few restaurants in Pondicherry that have AC
Service: Friendly staff, and quite quick service
Food (What we ordered) : Since we were just two of us, we ordered just 1 pizza. I don’t remember the name ☹
PIZZA!!

But it sure was tasty. Fresh woodfired pizza, but the only con is that it looses its charm once the pizza is cold. Once cold, it tastes like roti, with pizza toppings ( not very interesting, I know!). If you are lucky, you might spot some celebs, like we spotted Kunal Roy Kapoor here :)

3) Lé Café:

Ambience: The café is sea facing and right on the promenade. But they could do better cleanliness wise.
The Promenade from Le Cafe

Service:This is a self-service café.
Food (What we ordered): Chocolate milkshake, is avoidable.
Chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup- This was just the opposite of the chocolate milkshake. So very delectable, so palatable, the hot and cold mixture was an amazing feeling. I could have at least 3 more before my stomach would be full!
Brownie with vanilla ice cream!

4) #Dilliwala6:

Ambience: This restaurant is so beautiful. Painted in bright yellow. They have also kept a colourful scooter inside to compliment the bright yellow walls. I instantly fell in love with this place.
Service: The staff was very active and explained each dish very well, which helped us make the choice of the dish we want.
That scooter <3

Food (What we ordered) :Laccha Tokri.  Since we were tired of eating all kinds of bread since 2 days, we decided to have something with indian spices. Hence, we chose this restaurant. Unfortunately, we went at the wrong time and were forced to order chaats. Lachcha Tokri was similar to Raj Kachori that you get anywhere in India. But it sure was refreshing from the regular bread that we had been eating.

Lachcha Tokri

5) ZUKA!!

Ambience: Tiny, cozy place, with choclate everywhere you look. The butterflies you see in the image below, believe me, they are made of chocolate!

Chocolate butterflies

Service: Quick and enthusiastic staff
Food, or rather, Desserts (What we ordered here) : Butterscotch tart- Yummy is an understatement
Zebra pastry, which was a bit dry, but I still loved it!

Oh! How I love ZUKA!!

6) Club MahindraResort!

Ambience: Unmatched for!

<3
Service: Unmatched for!
Food (What we ordered) : Well, the food was the only let down here at Club Mahindra resorts. We ordered French fries and a Margherita Pizza. The fries were a bit too salty, but, that how I like my fries- “Crispy salty”. Pizza on the other hand was bland! But since it was full of mozzarella cheese, though I did not love it, I sure did like it.

Again- PIZZA!!
And finally, one last time before we left Puducherry, We had breakfast at Club Mahindra, which was worth the money. We had pancakes, various croissants, sausages, live counter for eggs and dosas , idli, upma and fresh fruit juices.
The pancakes were good, but the let down was that they served them with Honey instead of Maple syrup. The cheese omelette was bland and not edible. The fresh fruit juices, the soft and fresh croissants and the chicken sausages made up for what was not good.

Good-Bye Pondicheery!

All in all, we had a great culinary experience in Pondicherry. Now, that I have seen everything in Pondicherry, I would go back there only for Auroville, The Promenade, Bay of Buddha and to try more food!
